Meet Dog Pawrignon: The Sommelier You Never Knew You Needed
Every now and then, a product waltzes into your life that’s equal parts ridiculous and iconic - and suddenly, you can’t imagine living without it.
Enter: Dog Pawrignon.
Born out of frustration (and a healthy dose of sass), Dog Pawrignon started as a disaster. Two separate clients ordered versions of this four-legged wine holder under the previous name, The Sommelier Pup (affectionately nicknamed Marty McSnout). What arrived was - and we’re being generous - absolute trash.
Cheap 3D printing, weird proportions, a finish that cracked if you looked at it sideways… tragic.
So, like any self-respecting rebel brand, we did what needed to be done:
We made our own.
We teamed up with a local Cape Town artisan, sketched out our dream dachshund butler, and watched him come to life in glorious sculptural form. The result? A sleek, solid, scene-stealing wine holder lovingly cast by hand - designed to bring a touch of irreverent glam to your bar cart, shelf, or kitchen counter.
He’s called Dog Pawrignon because - obviously.
And no, the wine doesn’t come with him. But the attitude does.
Why we love him:
- He’s functional. Yes, really. Holds a standard wine bottle like it’s nothing.
- He’s hefty - just under 3.5kg of pure bar-cart muscle. Built to survive those braais.
- He’s hand-sculpted in Cape Town using high-quality casting materials.
- He looks stupidly good next to vases, coffee table books, and your emotional support candle collection.
- He’s got that “I don’t know what this is but I NEED it” energy - which, honestly, is the whole point.
This isn’t just home décor.
This is a vibe.
So, if you’re here for things that are extra in the best way, you’re in the right place.
Dog Pawrignon is now officially part of The Topaz Atelier collection - hand-poured to order and quality-controlled so we never have to refund and apologise for shoddy craftsmanship again.
